Hello dear ones,
How are you doing over there? I hope you are allowing yourself to step back and soak in the warmth of this season.
As the summer sun reaches its height, nature gives us full permission to slow down, soften, and take a genuine step back. Yet, so many of us struggle to give ourselves a true summer break. We carry the heavy expectation that we must remain constantly accessible, productive, and moving forward, even when our energy naturally wants to lean into quiet ease.
Taking an intentional pause during the summer is not an indulgence or a gap in your dedication; it is vital medicine for your nervous system. In our yoga practice, we learn that expansion cannot exist without contraction, and output cannot be sustained without deep, uninterrupted nourishment. When we step away from our usual routines, off the mat and away from the noise, we give our mind and body the essential space needed to process, integrate, and restore.
A true break allows your nervous system to drop out of subtle hyper-vigilance and shift into genuine parasympathetic rest. It is in these unstructured days, where nothing is demanded of you, that your creativity, clarity, and breath naturally find their way back home. Stepping away from practice or work for a season allows you to return later with renewed depth, joy, and presence.
Trust the value of taking a pause this summer. Allow yourself to lie in the grass, feel the heat on your skin, and simply be, without needing to justify your stillness.
Drop a comment if you wish, and share how you are giving yourself permission to slow down and rest this summer.
With love,
Moving with you, exactly as you are.
